Day 1
04:00 Departure from Antigua to Copán.


Copán is the site of a major Maya kingdom of the Classic era. The site in Copán is known for producing a remarkable series of portrait steles. The stele and sculptured decorations of the buildings of Copán are some of the very finest surviving art of ancient Mesoamérica.


Overnight in Copán.

Day 2
Depart from Copán to Quiriguá.


Quiriguá is one of the smallest Mayan cites but one of the most notable due to its splendid series of monuments. The site includes temple, rocks carved in the from of mythological animals and eleven large steles, plus the largest stele ever discovered in the Mayan world which is over 30 ft. tall. After visiting the ruins, we continue to Puerto Barrios, where a boat is waiting for your transfer to Livingston. Livingston is noted for its unusual mix of Garífuna, Maya, India and Ladino people and culture.

Day 3
09:00 Departure from Livingston for a boat tour up Río Dulce. This is the pleasantest way of reaching or leaving the Caribbean coast. Río Dulce is a jungle river with cliffs and dense vegetation. A wide variety of bird species can be seen in the section of river that revels through the mangrove swaps and lagoons of the Chocón Machacas Biotope.


14:00 Transfer from Río Dulce to Antigua Guatemala.
